We’re passionate about helping you flourish
on your E&I journey.

Meet Amy

I know what you’re thinking.

‘This lady looks like she should be teaching a spin class, not an equity and inclusion training.’

And that, my friends, is bias at work! It is why we are here together – to move through the journey of bias.

I am Amy Jeffers and over the last 15 years, I have honed my skills in leading change, enhancing culture, and fostering environments where people can flourish into authentic and dynamic humans. As a queer woman in corporate America, I saw the gap that is widely left in most organizations for non-dominate culture employees. As a result, I have created and led diversity and inclusion teams within the organizations I’ve joined. The systems around us need critical eyes looking at who our workplaces are designed for and where bias shows up. They need human centeredness. We need to assess if these environments are where our people can flourish.

Flourish (v): Grow or develop in a healthy or vigorous way, especially as the result of a particularly favorable environment.

My Story

My passion for studying people, leadership, and equity was born at an early age.

I was raised in Flint, Michigan until I was 11, at which time we moved to the Pacific Northwest under difficult circumstances. The massive culture shift was not lost on me. I moved 40 times by the end of high school - witnessing and experiencing a lot of challenging situations, I got good at making new friends and adapted to saying goodbye.

While in college and raising my younger brother as his legal guardian, my world lens was shifted forever. We saw great generosity from friends and professors helping us make it work. We experienced the need for, and the process to get access to state support through welfare and food stamps.

At the same time, I saw the comparison of my and my brother’s coming out stories - me as hetero-passing, him less so. I saw the broken education system in supporting LGBTQ youth through their school years. I saw bullying and pain through the eyes of a teenager. I saw so many systems that needed to change.

I studied Sociology - Race & Ethnic Relations, and Queer Studies at Western Washington University. I thought I was going to be on the crusade towards a Ph.D. to work with school systems to change how they show up for LGBTQ students; to design programs built around acceptance and belonging not just “tolerance”. But, I accidentally landed in corporate America. Quite frankly, it took me years to understand the purpose of this detour - I eventually learned that I could be a token and a trailblazer at the same time in the name of change.

So here we are; my personal, professional, and academic paths have led me to this work, along with my strong belief in equity and my talent for empowering others to dream big and live into their full potential. As a white-bodied person in this field, I work to use my privilege for good, engaging from an understanding that I must lead by example in navigating E&I change work - sharing my journey to bring others along.

As a collaborative, inquisitive, and authentic trainer, I believe in the power of genuine relationships through consultative partnerships. My peers and clients describe me as deeply committed, courageous, and caring.

Equipped with the tools of neuroscience and my understanding of the dynamics involved with equitable and inclusive change work, let’s partner together to develop healthy and vigorous environments -

where EVERYONE can FLOURISH.

We can help.
